It's not easy to find good webhosting these days, therefore this page will provide an overview of webhosts providing service for the bucks you have to pay.

Lunarpages (www.lunarpages.com)
A great package is available for $6.95/mo, including support for cPanel and Fantastico so you should feel at home. A nice plus: Mason, a nicely designed Site Builder and file manager which is included with the packages. I would certainly recommend this package based on the features you get and many great stories you hear about people hosted there.
Site 5 (www.site5.com)
Site5 is very affordable and a big name in the industry. You'll get the familiarity of cPanel features plus a proprietary control panel, SiteAdmin, which includes some fancy extras. This company makes a point to keep a low number of sites on each server, which we think is a smart idea, as it gives faster and more reliable hosting.
Weberz (www.weberz.com)
Weberz is not a new figure in the hosting arena. The company has been around for quite a while. The owner, Robert, certainly gained the respect of his customers. His open, upfront attitude, can only be commended. The company is not big, but while some might see this as a weakness, it is perhaps one of the reasons that makes their customers happy. As it usually happens with such companies, a certain personal touch infuses the communication between the host and its patronage. The host and the customer actually get to know each other. The basic package cost $9.95/Month.
Hostgator (www.hostgator.com)
Hostgator is a big name in the hosting industry and one of the web hosting companies that have many positive customer reviews. Their shared hosting lives up to the expectations, both in terms of uptime and customer support. Their prices are not the lowest I've seen, but they're certainly among the lower ones. Their basic plan costs 7.95$ a month.
Downtownhost (www.downtownhost.com)
DownTownHost is a good web hosting company. Not very large, but very well run by it's owner, Jorge. He seems to be a very friendly and helpful guy. Their basic plan costs 4.95$ a month.
InMotion Hosting (www.inmotionhosting.com)
InMotion Hosting is considered to be a reliable host in the hosting industry. A positive point is that they do not oversell their shared hosting packages, negative points are: artificial limits on attachment sizes on their basic plans and a low amount of diskspace and bandwidth for the price you have to pay.
Crucial Webhost (www.crucialwebhost.com)
We're hosted here since they're a MediaWiki friendly host: PHP5 support and they install eaccelerator if you ask for it (eaccelerator is a PHP accelerator, which improves the loading speed of your wiki and other php applications). Crucial Webhost is relatively new to the hosting business (since 2006), they're a bit more expensive than the other companies listed here, but they give excellent support, have a good technical knowledge and are very friendly. Update 21 Sept 2008: We're thinking of moving away, they've removed awstats statistics and the ability to generate a full backup today.
