Media Wiki:Change the name of your main page

• Why change the main page name?
  • The standard main page link of a mediawiki main page is index.php/Main_Page
  • As the "Main Page" word is not very benificial for search engine rankings, it's best to change it to something that is representative for your site.
• How to do it?
  • In the search field to the left type in MediaWiki:mainpage
  • you will see a document with as content "main_page", hit edit article.
  • instead of main_page type in your new name for instance: IpbWiki:Integration_Of_Invision_Power_Board_with_MediaWiki (notice to not use spaces or special symbols!) (This is no longer true for newer versions of MediaWiki, you can use spaces and special symbols in the name now.)
  • Press the Save Page button at the bottom.
  • Press CTRL+F5 to clear the cache, click your logo in the upper right and admire your new main bar!
