Changes in IpbWiki 1.7:

New Features
  • Compatibility with MediaWiki version 1.11: IpbWiki is now compatible with Invision Power Board 1.3, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and MediaWiki 1.5.4+, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11
  • Show content of a post on the wiki: to show the content of a single post on the wiki with full formatting use the tag <ipbwiki_post post=#postnr /> or to show just the text of the post without any formatting applied use the tag <ipbwiki_post post=#postnr border=0 />
  • Added the ability to login with wiki users defined before IpbWiki integration: this is mainly usefull when you already have an existing wiki community before you install the IpbWiki product, there is one drawback with this feature though: for wiki users which haven't filled in an email address, a fake email address is connected to their account the moment the conversion takes place. (MediaWiki does not require you to enter an email address the moment one registers and the Invision Power Board product needs to have an email address to be able to function)
  • Secondary user groups support: wiki rights assigned to a user's secondary user groups are now also being taken into account
  • IpbWiki Component change: administrators who you want to assign to administer IpbWiki from within your Admin Cp no longer have to be Root Admin
  • Added predefined css for the tags <ipbwiki_post /> and <ipbwiki_topiclist />: if you run a non ipbwiki skin such as monobook this means that formatting will also be applied to those tags, so that they have a 'nicer' look than in the previous IpbWiki version... (you can still override this css markup with defining other markup in your skin's main.css file)
  • Group Rights review: obscure wiki rights which caused confusion for most administrators, such as the 'bot' right, have been removed from the IpbWiki Group Permissions section.
  • If you run your wiki in another language than english then beware: ipbwiki_lang.php resource file has been updated with additional texts for the <ipbwiki_post /> tag
Bugfixes
  • Cleanup of PHP Info messages which were visible when you run in PHP error mode E_ALL, PHP error modes E_ERROR or E_WARNING are still advised to be used on your live wiki though...
  • the <ipbwiki_topiclist /> tag no longer shows topics which are in the moderation queue
  • the image directory is now fetched from the current skin a user uses, this means images used no longer are limited to the style_images/1 path
Installation:
  • Download IpbWiki Interface and IpbWiki Core from the client download section.
  • Upload IpbWiki Core to your forum directory and run the setup.
  • Upload IpbWiki Interface to your wiki directory and run the setup

benjet, feel free to create a testimonial here: http://www.ipbwiki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=20 smile.gif

in case you haven't done so yet, you can also add your wiki link to the sites running IpbWiki: http://www.ipbwiki.com/Sites_Running_IpbWiki

3 quick Qs:

Are the installation instructions the same for upgrades vs fresh installs?

If upgrading, do I need to redo the cookie settings configuration described on the IpbWiki Core 1.7 installation instructions, or will those settings remain unchanged?

Any settings that need to be reapplied after upgrading?

Thanks!

For the most part: upload, chmod, run install scripts, chmod back, remove installers.

I haven't had to change/modify any of this during upgrades.

Not as far as I can tell, the IPB wiki general and permission settings have remained intact during my upgrades, including to 1.7
